From an insider perspective, the process of getting a mortgage is falling into a normal pattern again.
Yeah, that's right, I said normal!
It's been several years since I could characterize it so. Now, that doesn't mean that the housing market is normal. I still have concerns regarding the stability of home prices at current levels.
In fact, I read a good opinion recently. Paraphrasing it; why should we keep housing prices artificially high when this is such a major part of most people's cash-flow and economics? I thought that was a good point.
So, we still have a road with potholes to traverse on home prices. Once those settle in the dust will be settled. That probably won't happen for another 1-2 years. It all depends on how long the government and institutions hold back housing inventory that really should be released back into the market, forcing prices to adjust to reality.
